David Beckham’s MLS franchise Inter Miami will do everything they can to sign Lionel Messi, should he look to leave PSG as early as this season. Lionel Messi’s deal at PSG runs out in 2023 but has the option of another year.

Messi’s first season at PSG so far hasn’t been as spellbinding as it was hoped. He has scored just seven goals in 23 appearances for them so far this campaign.

Although Messi might be hoping for a move back to Barcelona, a move to America could be on the cards for the 34-year-old if he looks to end his time in Paris early.

Inter Miami co-owner Jorge Vas didn’t downplay those rumours — pointing to the relationship Beckham has with the iconic No 10 as a reason for optimism.

There are other current as well as former Barcelona players who could also move to Inter Miami.

Beckham, however, was a little more coy.

‘I’ve always said I want the best players in our club and playing in our shirt because there’s a certain expectation. Unfortunately, sometimes it can be a bad thing. But most of the time it’s a good thing.”
